The Dept. of Adult and Community Education Diploma & Certificate in Addiction Studies course talks are taking place in the new Education Building, in room SE011 as part of the Maynooth University Open Day. The certificate course focuses on introducing participants to current debates on addiction. On completion, participants will have become familiar with contemporary addiction theory as well as prevention and treatment strategies. The Diploma will build on this learning and will provide students with an opportunity to advance their knowledge and expertise in prevention and intervention methodologies, acquire practical skills for prevention, intervention and education in order to enable them to respond effectively to the challenges presented by drug and alcohol misuse in Ireland.
