MUO Soloist Competition 2015
The Opportunity: It is planned that the winner of the Soloist Competition will perform with MUOrchestra in the academic year 2015-2016 (date TBC).
Who can participate? The Soloist Competition is open to all MU current and former students and to the non-student members of MUOrchestra (all orchestral instruments, piano, guitar, voice, and traditional instruments will be considered).
Which repertoire? All styles will be considered as long as the orchestration is appropriate. Please contact Mr. Sébastien Petiet (sebastienpetiet@hotmail.com) to discuss the suitability of the orchestration. Large symphonic works are inappropriate.
Audition Requirements: All applicants must, at the Competition, perform the work that they hope to play with the orchestra. The winner might however be asked to play a different composition, if necessary, depending on the size and format of next year’s orchestra.

The Competition will take place on Wednesday 10th of June 2015
Registration & Closing Date:
Please send an email to music.department@mu.ie, Cc to sebastienpetiet@hotmail.com, with ‘Soloist Competition 2015’ in the subject field, stating that you would like to register for the Competition. In the email applicants should specify:
- Their instrument/voice,
- Their choice of concerto or similar work to perform,
- The exact orchestration of the work,
- The exact duration of the work,
- Their link with Maynooth University and/or MUOrchestra
Registration closes at Noon on 5th of June 2015.
