About

Marie G. Cullen (MLIS (UCD), PGDHE (MU), ALAI) is an Assistant Librarian in General Collections & Finance at Maynooth University Library.  Since joining Maynooth University Library in 2008, Marie has held a variety of posts in Bibliographic Services, Learning, Teaching, Research and Development and the Maynooth University ePrints and eTheses Archive.  She has previously worked in the RCSI Mercer Library as Assistant Librarian Information Resources and as Special Collections Cataloguer.
 
A member of the Library Association of Ireland (LAI) since 2008 and a member of the Academic & Special Libraries (A&SL)  Section Committee since 2009, Marie was Hon. Secretary of the A&SL Committee from June 2011 to July 2014.  Marie was awarded Associateship of the LAI in March 2013.  She has presented at the CONUL Conference, INULS and QQML and has co-authored a number of articles which have been published in An Leabharlann, The Irish Library and Sconul Focus.  These articles are available to read at http://eprints.nuim.ie/
Professional interests include: collection management and resource description and the role of new technologies and social media in libraries.  Marie has completed research funded by the LAI Cataloguing and Metadata Group regarding the implementation of Resource Description and Access in Irish academic libraries
