Monday, October 24, 2016 - 16:45

On Thursday 20th October, 74 librarians from Ireland, the UK, the US, Sweden and the Middle East gathered in Maynooth University Library for a seminar entitled 'Academic Librarians communicating in the 21st Century' and the launch of a themed issue of the Taylor & Francis journal  New Review of Academic Librarianship. The issue was launched by Dr Victor Lazzarini who welcomed speakers and delegates. Dr Lazzarini congratulated the Library on its high level of engagement with the international library profession, commenting "the themed issue is also being published as a book by Routledge in 2017. This is further endorsement of the calibre of the articles."

Helen Fallon, Deputy University Librarian, edited the themed issue. She thanked Taylor & Francis for their sponsorship of the event and Dr Graham Walton, Editor-in-Chief of NRAL. Dr Walton thanked all involved and revealed that the 18 articles in the themed issue have been downloaded 5,146 times in  the seven weeks since the issue was published.
