Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. Delivering a comprehensive overview of the world's research output in   the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts   and humanities, Scopus features smart tools to track, analyse and   visualize research (including your own author profile). It also has tools that allow you to compare journal impact.

SciVal offers quick, easy access to the research performance of 7,500 research institutions and 220 nations worldwide.
A ready-to-use solution, SciVal enables you to visualize research performance (individual, group, & institutional level), benchmark relative to peers, and develop collaborative partnerships.

Access to both resources is available via the Libraries A-Z of databases. To access SciVal you'll need to initially register with Scopus and then use the same username and password to access SciVal.

The course is aimed at academic staff, post docs and postgraduate students who wish to develop their knowledge of the content and functionality of Scopus & SciVal.

Training will be with Dr Matt Walker, Customer Consultant, Elsevier
