Professor Doherty presents a paper at a recent conference held in Modena

Prof Michael Doherty presented a paper, co-authored with Dr Valentina Franca (University of Ljubjlana) at the  Seventeenth International Conference in Commemoration of Prof Marco Biagi, entitled "The Collective Dimension(s) of Employment Relations. Organizational and Regulatory Challenges in a World of Work in Transformation". The conference was held in Modena on March 18-20, 2019, and the paper was entitled “The (non/)response of trade unions to the ‘gig’ challenge”.  

Prof Doherty recently published a new piece ‘Trade Unions and the “Gig Economy”’ in Game Changers in Labour Law: Shaping the Future of Work

Maynooth Law Department has recently established a new Erasmus partnership with University of Modena Law School, and hosted colleagues from Modena at a research seminar in January.

Prof Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses to all first year law students on Introduction to Law, as well as Employment Law to BCL/ LLB students.
