Professor Michael Doherty attended the Worker Participation in Europe (WPE) Research Network meeting in Brussesls on October 19-20, 2017.

About the WP Research Network WPE is a network project under the leadership of the ETUI (European Trade Union Institute). It involves legal, economic, and industrial relations experts from countries across Europe. The project started in 2004 by observing the transposition of the SE legislation into national law. Since that time the focus has shifted towards providing a holistic view on the various means in which worker participation takes place in Europe by providing continuously updated empirical and conceptual information on the subject. Further information is available on the ETUI website.

Prof Doherty provided input to the network discussion on the European Pillar of Social Rights.
In particular, he noted his recently completed research work for the European Commission on the Written Statement Directive.

Professor Doherty teaches Employment Law and Introduction to Law on the LLB and BCL courses at Department of Law, Maynooth University.
