Prof Doherty presents on 'Trade Unions and the Gig Economy' at Institute of Labour Law, University of Leuven

Prof. Doherty was invited to speak at the Institute of Labour Law at Leuven Law Faculty, University of Leuven on Nov 3-4.

The conference was in honour of the late Emeritus Professor Roger Blanpain (°5 November 1932 – †11 October 2016). 

It is the start of an initiative aimed at bringing together international scholars to deal with ‘game changers’ in labour law. This initiative will examine evolutions, concepts, ideas or new challenges that are identifirf as having (had) a major impact on the way how we (have to) understand and approach labour.

The papers will be published in the 100th Bulletin of Comparative Labour Relations a series started under Prof. Blanpain's stewardship in the 1970s.

Professor Doherty researches widely in the area of European labour law and policy. Including his 2016 piece
''Through the Looking Glass: Brexit, Free Movement and the Future' published in King's Law Journal.
 
He is Head of  Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses to all first year law students on  Introduction to Law and Employment Law to BCL/ LLB students.
