Prof Doherty at Conference on Precarious Work in Education

Prof Michael Doherty spoke at a panel discussion on Precarious Work in Education, to mark international Women’s Day. The conference, organised by SIPTU, featured worker testimonies and proposals to build a collaborative union campaign to fight against casualisation, insecurity and precarious work in further and higher education. This campaign will Prof Doherty has written and commented extensively on the issue of precarious work, including his paper ‘Trade Unions and the “Gig Economy”’ (2018). Prof Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses to all first year law students on Introduction to Law, as well as Employment Law to BCL/ LLB students.
