PhD candidate and lecturer, Gerard Maguire has been awarded a visiting research fellowship at Cardiff University with the School of Law and Politics and the Centre for Law and Society

Due to restrictions with Covid-19 this visiting fellowship will be virtual. Gerard will be working with Professor Anna Grear and furthering his research into the relationship held between indigenous peoples, the environment and the law. He will be researching further into the issues of Solastalgia and Topophilia and how differing streams of international law, specifically the rights of minorities and indigenous peoples, international human rights law and international environmental law can be utilised to offer protections for vulnerable groups in the Anthropocene Epoch.

Gerard is a PhD candidate at Maynooth University Department of law and lectures International Law.
