Dr. Fergus Ryan at the World Congress of Family Law and Children's Rights

Dr Fergus Ryan of the Department of Law at Maynooth University recently featured as a speaker at the World Congress of Family Law and Children's Rights in Dublin. Fergus' paper, entitled "Unfinished Business? Equality and Family Diversity in the Wake of the Irish Marriage Referendum" addressed the legal understanding of family life and the position of non-traditional families in the wake of the 2015 Marriage Referendum and related reforms. The Congress drew over 600 delegates from all over the world. As part of the conference, Fergus also chaired a panel on the law relating to surrogacy and AHR.
Dr. Fergus Ryan teaches Family Law & Constitutional Law on the LLB & BCL programmes at Maynooth University.
