The first issue of a new international law journal co-founded and edited by John Reynolds of the Law Department has been published

The Third World Approaches to International Law Review (TWAIL Review) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal which aims to create a space for scholarship on questions of international law and policy related to and from the perspectives of the 'global South' in its broad conception. The journal was established by John and a group of colleagues from Colombia, Canada, Greece, India, Sri Lanka and Australia in 2019, and has been supported from the outset by Maynooth's Department of Law. They have published almost 50 short essays of in a variety of formats on its website over the past year. This first issue of the journal itself features a foreword from Antony Anghie, an introduction from the editorial collective, and substantive articles from Karin Mickelson, James Thuo Gathii, Rajshree Chandra, Fabia Fernandes Carvalho Veçoso, Paulo Ilich Bacca, Ali Hammoudi, and Hailegabriel G.
