Dr Ryan Recently Discussed Court Challenges to the Marriage Referendum on Newstalk Breakfast

Tuesday, July 7, 2015 - 09:45

Dr Fergus Ryan of Maynooth University Department of Law appeared on Newstalk Breakfast on Tuesday, 30 June 2015, discussing court challenges to the result in the recent marriage referendum.

Speaking with Chris Donoghue, Fergus outlined the implications of a pending appeal to the Court of Appeal seeking leave to challenge the referendum result, due to be heard on 30 July 2015. Such challenges have previously been taken but, given the high threshold involved in overturning a referendum result, have not succeeded.
