Dr Noelle Higgins presents research on the rights of indigenous peoples

Dr Noelle Higgins recently presented her research on the rights of indigenous peoples at a conference, entitled ‘10th Anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples: Conference to review progress and challenges’ at the University of London.

Her presentation focused on the Universal Periodic Review as a mechanism to promote the rights of indigenous peoples. The Conference was jointly organised and funded by the Human Rights Consortium, School of Advanced Study, University of London; The City Law School, City, University of London; Queen Mary, University of London’s Centre for European and International Legal Affairs; and the University of Lapland. Dr Higgins teaches a module on the Rights of Minorities and Indigenous Peoples on the LLM in International Justice programme offered by Maynooth University Department of Law.
