Dr Edana Richardson’s article “The UAE and Responsible Finance—Can Responsible Finance Ṣukūk Help the UAE in Fulfilling Its Sustainability Ambitions?” has been published online (print version forthcoming 2021) by the Arab Law Quarterly. This paper considers the UAE’s approach to sustainability and the extent to which responsible Islamic finance (in particular responsible finance sukuk) could be used to meet the country’s sustainable funding needs.

Dr Richardson teaches Islamic finance law on our LLM in International Business Law and LLM in Global Legal Studies programmes and researches in the areas of Islamic finance, capital markets and responsible finance.
