Dr David Mangan and Prof Michael Doherty have published a new chapter,  “The Informing Ethos Behind the Sources of UK National Labour Law” in The Sources of Labour Law (2019; edited by Tamás Gyulavári and Emanuele Menegatti). The book, the first-ever to consider the sources of labour law from a comparative perspective, outlines the relevant sources of labour regulation, starting from statutory law, down to collective bargaining and individual agreements. The underlying aim of the book is to map tendencies tangible all over the world in relation to recent transformations of labour law sources and their hierarchical order.

Dr David Mangan’s research investigates private law obligations (contract and tort) as well as employment/labour law, with a focus on the impact of information technology in these areas. He lectures in Employment, Contract and Commercial Law, as well as a module on Labour Law in the Digital Economy.

Prof Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses to all first year law students on Introduction to Law, as well as Employment Law to LLB students.
