Dr. Amina Adanan presents on panel on Customary International Human Rights Law at the University of Westminster

On 16 June 2021, Dr Amina Adanan presented and participated in an online event on ‘Operationalising Customary International Human Rights Law’. The event was organised by Dr Marco Longobardo of the University of Westminster and the panellists were: Dr Longobardo, Prof William Schabas (Middlesex University), Prof.  Hélène Tigroudja ( Aix-Marseille University and Member of the UN Human Rights Committee) and Dr Adanan. Dr Adanan’s presentation was based on her book chapter entitled ‘Universal Declaration of Human Rights as customary international law’ in Noelle Higgins, Amina Adanan, David Doyle and Michael Doherty (eds). The Universal Declaration at 70: A review of successes and challenges (Clarus Press, 2020). 

Dr Amina Adanan is a lecturer in Maynooth University Law Department where she teaches and researches in the area of human rights law. She publishes in the areas of Irish property law and international law. Dr. Amina Adanan’s research interests lie in international law, specifically in the area of domestic prosecutions of international crimes, and the history of international law.
