Maynooth University Department of Law presents:
“Brehon Law Past and Present” A conference on the history of Irish law
Wednesday April 9 2014

A day of thought provoking discussion on the influence of Brehon law in modern Irish law. Further details and programme will follow in early March.

Professor David Stifter (Maynooth University)
Dr Thomas Mohr (University College Dublin)
Dr Laura Cahillane (Dublin City University)
Dr Patricia Herron (University of Limerick)

While the final list of speakers is being compiled we ask that anyone wishing to present a paper contact Katrina Morrison (katrinamorrison@live.ie)

We welcome contributions from a range of disciplines, including law, history, Celtic studies and others.
There will also be an excursion on Monday, 7 April to the Boyne Valley.

At 7pm on Tuesday, 8 April 2014, we will be holding a mock trial of “The cattle raid of Cooley” and welcome teams from any third level institution (contact Katrina Morrison (katrinamorrison@live.ie) if you are interested in participating or for further information).
