Maynooth University Centre for Irish Language provides many opportunities for people to learn Irish or to enhance their current skills, both for learners and frequent users of the Irish language.

Irish Courses for Maynooth University Students (ILASP)

Did you know you can take extra modules in Irish outside your chosen degree and earn extra credits? There are many benefits to being proficient in a second language. Not only can language skills boost your CV and employability, participation in language programmes have been shown to improve students' general academic performance and intellectual ability. Based on the TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge) syllabuses, these courses are specifically designed for adult learners. Irish language courses are available at a number of levels in the Maynooth University Centre for Irish Language and students have the option of taking a TEG exam at the end of the academic year. Irish Courses for International Students at Maynooth University

The LC101 module for international students aims to provide a solid basis in the Irish language for complete beginners, through developing skills of understanding, speaking, reading and writing Irish at a basic level.  Irish language culture is an integral part of this popular course. VIFAX don Ghaeilge

VIFAX is an Irish language audiovisual learning resource based on TG4 news bulletins, produced by the Centre for Irish Language weekly throughout the academic year.
