1. Loose that snooze button
We are all guilty of hitting the snooze button just to grab a few extra precious minutes of sleep. It’s not worth it. It is best to jump out of bed as soon as your first alarm goes off. Easier said than done but this really makes a difference to your energy for getting ready and starting the day off on the right foot.
2. Easy to make breakfasts
Do not skip breakfast! If you are short on time, breakfast can be the first thing to go. Remember you might have a busy day of lectures ahead with no time to eat until lunch. You will not be able to concentrate and will feel lethargic and cranky. Why not prep breakfast the night before and store in the fridge or plan something quick and simple that won’t take long to put together in the morning. Chop up some fruit and have it with yogurt, boil and egg and eat with a tasty slice of toast, try making some overnight oats or have your favourite healthy cereal to hand. Even popping out your bowl/plate/cutlery onto the worktop the night before will save minutes in the morning.
3. Pack your bag and lunch the night before
There is nothing worse than that last minute scramble for the right textbooks, lecture notes, paper, pens and keys as you glance frantically at the clock. Get all those bits and pieces together the night before and have them in your bag ready to go. Same goes for lunch if you are bringing your own with you. Why not prep your lunch as much as possible the night before and store what you need in the fridge. Then it is easy to grab and add to your bag before you head out.
4. Plan and layout your outfit the night before
College is not a fashion show but you do want to make sure you are comfortable and you feel good. I swear by this little tip. Every night before you go to bed, pick out what you are going to wear the next day. Mornings are stressful enough without having to plan an outfit. This will save so much time.
