The Innovation Value Institute, MU School of Business and MU Department of Design Innovation hosted their first summer school in collaboration with the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan last week. The programme called ‘Creative Thinking and Problem Solving’ took place from 4th to 8th September and saw five postgraduate students travel to Maynooth from Tokyo Institute of Technology along with faculty member Professor Junichi Iijima. The international students were joined with students from MU, NUIG and DCU for what proved to be a fruitful programme covering topics within the field of design thinking and design science and taught by MU faculty along with Professor Iijima. On their last day the international students took in some of Dublin’s most popular attractions, visiting EPIC Ireland Emigration Museum, the Guinness Storehouse and the National Museum of Ireland- Decorative Arts and History. Due to its great success plans are already underway for a similar programme next year.
