The Role

The key role of the Science and Engineering Promotion Officer is to promote the programmes offered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Maynooth University to prospective applicants, and other key stakeholders. The post-holder will be expected to significantly increase the undergraduate applications to the University’s science and engineering degrees. The post-holder will enhance the Admissions Office team and support the Faculty in ensuring that all the outreach functions of the Office and Faculty are successfully completed in an effective and efficient manner. A feature of the post will be the creation of opportunities to enhance the profile of science and engineering at Maynooth.

Reporting to the Admissions Officer/Assistant Registrar, a key role to this post will be to liaise and relate to and empathise with potential applicants, and other stakeholders. The effective discharge of the duties requires the development and maintenance of good working relationships particularly with external partners such as school principals, guidance counsellors, teachers, as well as academic and non-academic colleagues across the Faculty and the university.
