The Role

Maynooth University is committed to a strategy in which the primary University goals of excellent research and scholarship and outstanding education are interlinked and equally valued.

We are seeking an experienced post-doctoral researcher to join the team of Professor John Lowry on an R01 grant (Neuroinflammatory and cognitive consequences of losing cholinergic anti-inflammatory tone in the forebrain) from the US NIH to Professor Colm Cunningham, Trinity College Dublin. The Maynooth collaboration and the role of the current post is to facilitate the application of microelectrochemical sensors and biosensors in the time-synchronisation and integration of brain chemistry (O2, NO, glucose, lactate, acetylcholine) with brain activity (EEG) and behaviour. The post-doctoral researcher will be expected to drive a creative and ambitious research programme in neurochemistry and to liaise with academic partners.
