Technical Promotions
Applications are now welcome from eligible candidates for promotion to the grade of Senior Technical Officer.
The primary objective of the University’s Technical Promotion Scheme is to retain and develop excellent technical staff by recognising and rewarding the competencies required in the Senior Technical Officer role.
The procedure for promotion from the Technical Officer to the Senior Technical Officer grade has been developed in line with the Report of the Expert Group on University Technician Grades (2005), which was accepted by the University and staff representatives in 2008.

The closing date for receipt of applications is close of business Friday, 27th June 2025. Please be advised that applications received after this deadline will not be accepted.
Please note that the promotion of Technical Staff will be subject to government policy, the availability of adequate funding in the University budget, and to any directions issued or regulations made by Governing Authority.
