Where staff are working abroad for a prolonged period it is recommended that they complete the Staff Emergency File .  This is essentially a form of risk assessment that you carry out confirming;

  • contact details
  • passport details
  • outline the nature of the activities that are being undertaken (research other)
  • personal emergency contacts
  • personal medical details
  • insurance details 

A Risk Evaluation should be carried out on the country of destination taking advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs and The Tropical Medical Bureau.
