Title: The road to digital health: leveraging ICT to address health challenges
Abstract: In this talk I give an overview of some of the research I have been involved with at Maynooth over the years. The emphasis is on the journey to the current focus on digital health – a domain that encompasses many aspects of ICT from sensor development through to signal processing and distributed computing. I highlight some of the many pivots taken on that journey, the non-linear nature of the research process and the importance of collaborations and perspectives from other disciplines. Finally I touch upon the potential of digital biomarkers to provide new opportunities to understand and track biological processes in health and disease.
