Maynooth Green Campus are asking for your support of Maynooth Unplugged by taking action.

Please take a couple of minutes before you leave your office or workspace to unplug, not just left on standby, anything that uses electricity that will not be in use during your Christmas break.  Check Photocopiers, PC and Printer, Chargers, Lights, Kitchen Appliances, anything with a plug that is regarded as "non-essential".  Don't forget also any departmental teaching rooms where there may be PCs and projectors which will not be in use.

Let’s not waste energy, we can all do our bit to help make Our Campus Greener.

We wish you all a Happy and Green Christmas.

Please look at our website www.maynoothuniversity.ie/green-campus for further information on how you can be less wasteful and correctly recycle at home this Christmas.

  Wrapping Ideas
  MGC Sustainable Tips

Wrapping paper can only be recycled if it passes the scrunch test - simple paper wrap can be recycled but foil or glitter-decorated paper cannot and needs to go in the general waste.
Before putting in your green bin, remove any sticky tape and decorations such as ribbons and bows as these cannot be recycled.
Prevent Food Waste – we all know what to do, or what not to do.  Plan your shopping and meals; know the dates and difference between Use By and Best Before; Use you your leftovers.

Whatever you decide to do try to take small steps by making personal decisions to reject excess packaging so that collectively we can make a big difference heading into 2019!
