Guest Lecture - Dr. Robert Whalen

The Center for Digital Humanities at Maynooth University, An Foras Feasa, is pleased to announce special guest lecture by visiting fellow Professor Robert Whalen on 'George Herbert: Complete Prose, with Latin and Greek Verse: A Critical Edition'. The lecture will take place at 10am on Wednesday 12 April in the An Foras Feasa Seminar Room (Room no.1.33) and will be followed by a coffee break at 11am. Robert Whalen (PhD, University of Toronto) is Professor of Renaissance Literature at Northern Michigan University. His publications include The Poetry of Immanence: Sacrament in Donne and Herbert (U of Toronto P); articles in Renaissance Quarterly, Early Modern Literary Studies, Digital Studies, and Harold Bloom’s John Donne and the Metaphysical Poets; and The Digital Temple, an edition of George Herbert’s English verse for University of Virginia Press, co-edited with Christopher Hodgkins. He has been a Fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities and lead investigator for two NEH Scholarly Editions Grants. His current editorial project, also with Hodgkins, is a joint print and digital edition of Herbert’s ‘Complete Prose, with Latin and Greek Verse.
