Biography

I am a political ecologist, with an interest in place-based resistance to extractivism and community responses to environmental change from a critical post-structuralist perspective. I am currently working with Prof. Jennie Stephens in the international Justice First project, focusing on generating knowledge embedded in local geographies and socio-cultural contexts, in order to tackle the challenge of energy transition within an energy-justice framework. I have also been assisting with the Climate Justice University Union, a transboundary and transdisciplinary collective seeking to leverage the transformative potential of higher education institutions to accelerate a just transition and advance climate justice.
Before joining the academic world full-time, I have been extensively involved with grassroots environmental and human rights organisations in Italy, Mexico, Kenya, India and more.
