Biography

I am lecturer in Psychology of Education, a chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (C.Psychol.Ps.S.I.) and currently course leader of the Masters in Education (M.Ed.).
My research interests are broadly located in the intersection of psychology and education; I am interested in the possibilities these disciplines create for deepening our understanding the human condition and of the socio-cultural world we live in. I am particularly interested in wellbeing, mindfulness, consciousness and contemplative enquiry, in ways that link to broad educational values of democracy, equality, inclusion and social justice.
Prior to completing my PhD and joining Maynooth University, I worked as a psychologist and as an early childhood educator in Ireland and The Netherlands. I am very happy to be still involved with a number community organisations working with and for children and young people in the local area.
