Doctoral Fellowships in Financial Econometrics/Empirical Finance

The Department of Economics, Finance & Accounting at Maynooth University will award two four-year doctoral fellowships in financial econometrics or empirical finance commencing in September 2018. Applicants must have completed a master’s degree in finance, economics, or statistics, showing outstanding potential for creative academic research. The doctoral fellow will be part of a large multi-university team of researchers working on topics in financial market risk supported by the Science Foundation of Ireland and industry sponsors. The two doctoral fellowships are under the supervision of Professor Gregory Connor. Potential topics include the number of pervasive factors in returns, the identification of second-order return factors, dynamic factor modelling, the link between return factors and macroeconomic factors, cross-border factor correlations, the factor structure of European markets, or a related topic. The fellowship is for a four-year period and covers tuition, €18k per annum stipend, and €2k travel/equipment grant.
