Congratulations to Daniel Curran and Conor Dowling, PhD candidates in the Department of English, who have both been awarded prestigious Irish Research Council postgraduate scholarships.  Daniel is working on a dissertation on “Reported Death in Joyce and Beckett”, supervised by Professor Emer Nolan.  Conor’s dissertation is on “Modernism and Uncertainty in Free State Literature” and is supervised by Dr Conor McCarthy.  Daniel and Conor join our other current IRC postgraduate scholar, Matt Forgarty, as top nationally-recognised researchers in the area of Irish modernism.   We wish them, and all our postgraduate students, continued success in their studies.
