Lecture by Prof. Peter Herrmann

Professor Peter Herrmann from Berlin School of Economics and Law, Germany visited Maynooth University on 11 October 2019 and delivered a guest lecture on China and Globalisation. More than 40 students and staff members from Chinese Studies attended the lecture. The audience enjoyed the inspiring lecture and engaged with Professor Herrmann in the Q&A session.

Prof. Herrmann is a social philosopher with an academic background in sociology, political science, economics and jurisprudence. Affiliated with the world of teaching and research, chasing for an-swering the Faustian question “what holds the world together at its core” (concrete links between economics and jurisprudence). His recent positions span from the Max-Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, Munich (Germany) over the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, Łódź (Po-land) and currently preparing returning to Changsha (PRC), there working as Professor of the Law School of Central South University. His latest Publications: Right to Stay – Right to Move (Vienna: Vienna Academic Press, 2019); Is There Still Any Value in It? Revisiting Value and Valuation in a Globalising Digital World (New York: Nova Science Publishers, 2019).
