Following on from government announcements the Engineering Maths Exam will take place in the week following the Leaving Certificate results. Updates will be posted here, all subject to government guidelines.
The Maths Entrance Exam is provisionally scheduled on Tuesday 18th August 2020 (date to be confirmed subject to release of LC results).
The exam offers recent Leaving Certificate students who may not have achieved the minimum H4 Maths entry requirement for engineering in Maynooth University, an alternative opportunity to secure the grade (60%) acceptable to meet the maths entry requirement for MH304 (Engineering).
The exam, 2 hours in duration, is based on the content covered by Paper One of the Leaving Certificate Higher Level Mathematics syllabus.
Students are also welcome to attend the Maths Preparation Course (date to be confirmed pending Leaving Certificate schedule). The preparation course will take place ONLINE and will include lectures and tutorials on exam topics and recent exam papers. Full details will be updated on how to access the course in the near future.
All students registered to take the Maths Entrance Exam will have access to the Preparatory Course.
The exam is based only on content covered by Paper One of the Leaving Certificate Higher Level Mathematics syllabus and consists of one exam, for two hours. It provides prospective Engineering students with a second chance to secure the required H4 in Leaving Certificate Maths in order to meet the basic entry requirement for qualification to our Engineering degree.
