Raid on Gas Field ends in Disaster

The EU Mediation team in talks with the parties
Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - 18:15

Following heavy casualties from a disastrous Federal Special Forces gas field assault, the near total collapse of the Colbanstown Agreement, widespread ethnic violence and a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation, international pressure has prevailed on the parties to accept an EU high level mediation to avoid a doomsday situation.  The EU Mediation team will arrive at the Maynooth University campus on Monday to commence the negotiation with the parties.

This is the simulated scenario that will confront EU civilian, police and military personnel who will arrive at the University on Monday to undertake a CSDP Mediation Course.  The Course is designed for personnel from the European External Action Service (EEAS), EU‐Member States public servants, EU Institutions and Agencies, candidate states and selected third countries.  Officers from the Garda Siochana, the Defence Forces and nominees from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will undergo the Course, with personnel from Belgium, Spain, Finland, UK, Sweden, and Greece.  Find out more here.
