The Child Inclusive Mediation Conference on 9 October 2019 was a collaboration between the Edward M Kennedy Institute and Law Department in Maynooth University. The conference was chaired by Dr Treasa Kenny, Edward M Kennedy Institute. It brought together Paul Brown's experience as a Child Protection mediator in Canada, with Rebecca Murphy's PhD research on this area through the Law Department, with Dr Ann O'Kelly's research on Child Inclusive practice, Marianne Joyce's experience as a research adviser while a child and a demonstration of child inclusive practice by the Legal Aid Board (Family Mediation Service). The conference was closed by Her Honour, Judge Rosemary Horgan. We were delighted to welcome a broad audience of 70 interested people from the child protection agency, Tusla, mediation profession and legal profession to join the conversation about this important area of mediation practice.
