The Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) in association with Laois and Kilkenny Education Centres, the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting Maynooth University, the Irish Economic Association and St. Angela's College are delighted to host the Young Economist(s) of the Year National Awards for post-primary students in Citywest Hotel, Saggart, Dublin on Monday March 14th 2016.
This year there were approximately 300 entries and on the day the winners will be presented with their awards by the PDST Team, Prof Rowena Pecchenino (Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting Maynooth University) and Prof Donal O'Neill (President Irish Economic Association and Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting Maynooth University).
The keynote address will be given Prof. Carol Newman (Council Member of the Irish Economic Association and Department of Economics, Trinity College Dublin). Prof. Newman will present How economics can be used to fight global poverty
