Dr. Aedín Doris, a labour economist at the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting Maynooth University, has been invited to speak at a major international conference on higher education financing, at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. The conference is being convened by the Royal School of Economics, Australian National University and will take place on October 20th and 21st . The conference will hear from top student loan researchers from around the world. Dr. Doris will present her research on the proposed student loan system for Ireland, which formed a key part of the Cassell's report on third level funding. The proceedings of the conference are expected to have major impacts on both research and policy in the area of university funding.
