Design Victory for Maynooth Students

The Department of Design Innovation would like to congratulate two 3rd year product design students on winning the 2016 W2W / Orangebox national design competition. Of the 12 shortlisted finalists, Maynooth University was the strongest represented with 4 teams listed. 
 
Joseph Halpin and Peter O'Mera won the competition outright with their entry EDEN - A connected outdoor work kiosk designed to encourage employees to spend some of their working time in green areas of the city.
 
Reflecting on the competition, the module lecturer Trevor Vaugh said "We are very proud of our finalists for representing themselves, the department and the University so well. Every student put in an extraordinary effort, and that effort was clearly recognised by the judges and rewarded. The work presented by our students was beautiful, smart and incredibly Innovative, and we expect to see a number of the projects developed further".
 
The exhibition will tour all of the represented college campuses in the coming weeks, and the department of design innovation would like to invite anybody interested in the future of office space to come visit it when it arrives in Maynooth.
 
The four shortlisted teams from Maynooth University were;

Eden Workstand –Joseph Halpin Peter O’Meara
Reach Desk Divider – Marcus Duff, Gavin Richards, Shane Power
