Prof. Fiona M. Palmer has been awarded the ‘Service Award for Excellence in Scholarship 2019’ by the International Society of Bassists. Every two years the International Society of Bassists recognizes those who have contributed their special skills, knowledge, projects and other positive works in furthering the ISB's mission to ‘Inspire, Educate and Connect’. Fiona has a background as a professional double bassist and her Oxford University Press monograph Dragonetti in England (1794–1846): The Career of a Double Bass Virtuoso has become a valuable reference for musicologists and performers.
