Head of Department, Dr Aedín Doris was delighted to speak at the RSE Conference FUNDING OF TERTIARY EDUCATION IN SCOTLAND, earlier this week.

The purpose of this two-day Conference was to promote a well-focussed, informed and evidence-based debate about the future of the funding of tertiary education in Scotland, drawing on currently published material, pre-Conference submissions by speakers, and contributions across the event from educational experts, policymakers, and leading academics.
A key outcome of the Conference will be to offer evidence-based policy options for future funding models in Scotland which can be used and considered by policymakers, both institutionally and politically, in their further deliberations after May.
Dr Aedín Doris spoke on The Evolution and Consequences of the Underfunding of Higher Education in Ireland and was joined by fellow panellists online Sandra McNally, LSE and Michael Wells, MinterEllison Educational Consulting, Melbourne.
