Two Athena SWAN Bronze Awards presented to Maynooth University
Two departments at Maynooth University, Biology and Geography, received Athena SWAN Bronze Department Awards at a ceremony hosted by the Royal College of Surgeons. The awards were presented to each department by the Minister of State for Higher Education, Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD.

Maynooth University officially launches the Kathleen Lonsdale Institute for Human Health Research
Maynooth University has announced the launch of the Kathleen Lonsdale Institute for Human Health Research. The institute, which is located on the university’s campus, takes a uniquely integrated approach to address some of the major health problems of today, including obesity and antimicrobial resistance, as well as researching many chronic inflammatory diseases like Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.

InSPIREurope at Maynooth University supports scholars at risk of persecution
A new EU-funded initiative to support researchers at risk was today launched by ten European partners at Maynooth University, Ireland. The initiative, InSPIREurope, is a Europe-wide alliance for researchers who are at risk due to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence.

Maynooth University hosts 14 Conferring Ceremonies over five days
Maynooth University will confer a total of 2,248 students over five days with a range of degrees and diplomas at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The University will host 14 ceremonies over five days, starting today (Friday 6th) and running until Friday 13 September.
