Dr. Stephen Cochrane from QUB will present "Peptides, Probes and Proteases - Novel Chemical Strategies to Address Antimicrobial Resistance" in PCT on Friday 29th November 2019. All welcome.
The Cochrane Lab uses synthetic organic chemistry to design new antimicrobial peptides and develop probes to assay new antimicrobial targets. This talk will focus on efforts to generate novel tridecaptin analogues that have increased potency and less susceptibility to hydrolysis by D-peptidases, as well as semi-synthesis of labelled undecaprenol derivatives to assay glycolipid-processing enzymes.
