AFF supports the teaching and research mission of the Faculty of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy. It also has particular expertise in Digital Humanities research and education.
The Institute runs a number of teaching programmes including the MA in Digital Humanities and MSc in Spatial eHumanities and participates in the inter-institutional Digital Arts and Humanities Structured PhD (DAH), the largest structured PhD programme in Europe.
AFF is host to many research projects across the Faculty (see our Research page), a Visiting Fellow programme, and robust lecture, seminar, and workshop series. AFF is aligned with two of the university’s research themes, Human Cultures, Experience and Creativity, and Humanities in Practice: Sources, Resources and Discources.
