Competition for 1st and 2nd Year Students of Any Discipline - Win €1,500

Tuesday, February 2, 2016 - 10:45

First and Second Year Students - we are delighted to launch our "Your Take on Tax" Competition for 2016!  Win €1,500 for you and your team!

Have you ever noticed that whether you are logging on to a news website, flicking through a discussion board or just leafing through a newspaper, the whole area of TAX keeps coming up?  OK, so you've probably realised that tax is pretty important for families, businesses and the whole world economy! And did you know that it's the job of over 5,000 Chartered Tax Advisers (CTA) in Ireland and about 28,000 CTAs all over the globe to advise on all these tax issues? Well now you do!

What does the competition involve?
We want you to show us that you have some understanding of tax in Ireland - don't worry you don't have to be a tax guru (you don't even have to have studied tax on your degree!), we just want you to demonstrate that you can present your opinion!
So.... if you are in either first or second year in university / college in Ireland, we want you to form teams of between two and four members and do a bit of brainstorming, thinking and researching on 4 different tax topics (find out more about the topics via http://www.careerintax.ie/competitions/your-take-on-tax-competition/
Then gather all your thoughts and opinions and submit them to us either as a 4 - 5 page written submission or as a 5 minute video.

The prize?
The winning team will share in a cash prize of €1,500! But aside from this great cash prize, taking part is a super way to improve your analytical, critical thinking, creative, presentation and team building skills (which look really great on your CV!).

Next steps?
1. Have a look at the http://www.careerintax.ie/competitions/your-take-on-tax-competition/  - this will tell you all about the competition and how to make your submission in either written or video format.
2. E-mail your completed entry form along with your submission by the closing date of 5pm on 26 February 2016 to Cait Monagher at cmonagher@taxinstitute.ie
