Cycling is one of the most efficient transportation modes to access the University with. It is ideal for short to moderate journeys. You will be amazed the distance a 15/20-minute cycle will achieve.
Getting out of your car and onto your bike will not only help reduce traffic congestion and improve the environment on campus, it will make you healthier as well. Cycling reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and lowers cholesterol. It also helps tone up calves, thighs, and hips and can burn off calories at a rate of up to 700 per hour!
This initiative is sponsored by the Campus Traffic Management Office and proudly supported by Maynooth Green Campus.
