15th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC)

Thursday, January 9, 2020 - 13:15

The DRI team is looking forward to the 15th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC), which will be held at Croke Park, Dublin, from 17-20 February 2020. The conference will feature keynotes from Francine Berman, Edward P Hamilton Distinguished Professor in Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Dr Sandra Collins, Director of the National Library of Ireland and member of the Research Data Alliance Council. There will be a rich array of sessions and papers on the central theme of ‘Collective Curation: the many hands that make data work’, which can be browsed in the IDCC programme.

To ensure that as many of our members as possible can join us at IDCC, we are pleased to be able to offer two bursaries of €300 each towards the cost of registration at early bird price. Individuals from any of our member institutions may apply. A full list of DRI Members is available at: https://www.dri.ie/our-members. Those who are interested in receiving one of these bursaries should send in an expression of interest containing their name, contact details, and a short statement about why the bursary will enable you to attend, by midnight on Tuesday 14 January. Members who have already registered are also welcome to apply for the bursary.

We are also able to cover the full cost of registration (£150, reimbursed in Euros) for two students who are registered at universities on the island of Ireland. Students who wish to apply for this bursary should submit a short (max. 500 words) statement explaining why attending IDCC would be valuable and useful to their studies/research, together with their name and affiliation. The deadline for expressions of interest is also midnight on Tuesday 14 January, and the winners will be chosen by the DRI team based on the statements provided by the applicants.

Expressions of interest should be sent to DRI Education and Outreach Manager, Dr Deborah Thorpe at d.thorpe@ria.ie.
