Lorna Dodd (Senior Librarian Learning, Research and Information Services) has been awarded a Maynooth University Teaching Fellowship. Lorna, together with her colleague Dr Brian McKenzie from the Centre for Teaching and Learning, submitted a successful proposal regarding the development of a suite of online resources which will be accessible online or customised and embedded into Moodle. The project will consist of tutorials, videos and guides that support the development and assessment of key Information Literacy skills and the Maynooth Graduate Attributes. Each resource will include an element of assessment and evaluation of learning. Topics covered will include using problem solving to find relevant information, critically thinking to evaluate information and its source, using information ethically and avoiding plagiarism, and referencing information appropriately using bibliographic software. The work will take place over the coming months.
