Making Hope Practical: a Dialogue on Freire
Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 10:00

The Centre for Research in Adult Learning and Education (CRALE) is delighted to invite you to an online seminar - Making Hope Practical: a Dialogue on Freire

Fri Nov 26th at 14.00-17.00 (GMT)

This is the centenary of the birth of the adult educator Paulo Freire and it is over 50 years since his most famous work Pedagogy of the Oppressed was published.
Through a lifetime of effort and struggle, of dialogue and experiment, Freire became the most influential educational thinker of the past sixty years and transformed educational thinking, practice and research.
We are delighted to announce that we will be joined in this dialogue by educators who collaborated directly with Freire and/or have had a key role in applying, extending and developing his ideas in North America and in Ireland; Ira Shor, Ted Fleming and Brid Connolly.

This event is being hosted by the Centre for Research on Adult Learning and Education at the Department of Adult and Community Education (CRALE), Maynooth University in collaboration with the European Society for Research on the Education and Learning of Adults (ESREA) network on Active Democratic Citizenship and Adult Learning
