Professor Peter Mayo is Professor of Education Studies, Faculty of Education, University of Malta. He is currently a partner in the EU Tempus project, Lifelong Learning in Palestine, coordinated by University of Glasgow. His books include Gramsci, Freire and Adult Education (Zed Books, 1999) which was also published in five other languages (Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Italian and German), Liberating Praxis (Praeger, 2004, Sense, 2008) which won a 2005 AESA award, Gramsci and Education (co-edited, Rowman & Littlefield, 2002), Learning and Social Difference (co-authored with C. Borg, Paradigm, 2006), Education in Small States (edited, Routledge, 2009), Public Intellectuals, Radical Democracy and Social Movements. A book of Interviews (with C. Borg, Peter Lang Publ., 2007), and Gramsci and Educational Thought (edited Wiley-Blackwell, 2010). He co-edits the book series, Postcolonial Studies in Education for Palgrave-Macmillan and the book series, International issues in Adult Education for Sense Publishers.
